Dramatic Entrance Walkway for a Lakefront Home

Property location: Standish, Maine

This lakeside property has a steep decline from the road to the house. Ted Carter Inspired Landscapes (TCIL) was tasked with adjusting the site to accommodate a new garage and to address some long-standing water management issues on the property. For access between the house and garage, a series of bluestone walkways and landings, connected by granite steps, was installed to give the homeowners safe year-round access to both structures on the property. A dry creek bed filled with over-sized rip-rap was installed to direct the surface water away from the front door of the house.
