Celebrating an Unusual Tree

What started as a smaller scale project blossomed into a transformative opportunity. The homeowners for this project asked Ted Carter Inspired Landscapes (TCIL) to redesign the front entrance to their house. To emphasize the main entrance and create a more welcoming experience, TCIL reoriented the steps leading up to the front porch. While Ted’s initial inclination was to remove the mature leaning tree from the landscape, the homeowners advocated for its preservation and asked for its unique characteristics to be highlighted. That design brief resulted in the tree becoming a celebrated feature of the landscape, being included in the dry stream bed that now crosses under the main walkway.
