Message from Our Founder

Throughout the various landscape companies I've founded over the years, two principles have remained constant: 1.) Embracing a spirit of collaboration, and 2.) Believing that each of us has an opportunity to create one’s own destiny. By engaging others, we empower those around us to contribute their ideas, talents, and perspectives, creating something far greater than any one person could accomplish alone.

Our industry offers a dynamic blend of design and construction – allowing us to use our minds to imagine and create, and our hands to bring those ideas to life. Crafting beautiful spaces, healing the land, practicing environmental stewardship, and supporting pollinators are all part of the meaningful work we have the privilege to do.

Just as important as the landscapes we create are the relationships we build. The connections we share within our organization, with our clients, and throughout our network of professional partners are fundamental to our success. 

In 2021, I set the goal for myself and our company’s management team that I would transition to part-time status within five years. That goal has been realized! I am thrilled to be continuing with the company in the role of Creative Director, focusing my energy on the design vision I have been refining over the last 45 years. One of the greatest rewards of my career has been entrusting my life's work to the next generation. Seeing this company continue in the hands of a talented, dedicated, and employee-owned team gives me tremendous confidence in its future.
